Custom Declaration

Custom declaration is an important part of the import and export process in Malaysia.

  1. Accurate Information: It is important to always ensure the details such as type and quantity of goods are accurate, complete and match with the actual physically goods being declared. Providing inaccurate or incomplete information may result in delays or in some cases, hefty penalties.
  2. Proper Documentations: All the relevant documents such as commercial invoice, bill of lading, packing list, import or export license (if applicable), and certificate of origin must be prepared before any custom declaration.
  3. Compliance with regulations: Imported or exported goods must comply with all the relevant regulations and requirements, including safety and health regulations, and environmental regulations. Failure to comply may result in delays, penalties and the worst, seizure of the said goods.
  4. Duties & Taxes: Import duties, taxes and other fees are imposed depending on the type of goods. The latest duties and taxes may change from time to time. It is advisable to always talk to us to know more about the latest imposable duties and taxes.
